Little Jo

I got to hold you the day you were born. I fixed your hair when you were a flower girl. I got to love you, and watch you grow up. You should be here to turn 18, and live through the awkwardness of your twenties, learn who you are in your thirties. I don’t know what your forties are for yet — but you should still have that in front of you. You should still be here. I will miss your sweet smile, and your big sad eyes, and I pray that Jesus holds you tightly for all of us.

Lord, be with us.
