Let’s go to Mood.
Although, not Mood, because we are in Oklahoma.
One of my favorite projects at the lodge has been choosing fabric for the furniture in the lounge. Our furniture is in great shape, but the upholstery work had seen better days — and the vibe was a little… grey.
So I collected all the textures and colors that were staying like the wallpaper, the brick, and the floors, and started searching for fabric choices. Fabric swatching is high on my "free fun” radar — and swatches mostly come in perfect squares that can be re-used for other projects like microwaveable heating bags, which I may share about another time. :)
Note: We did not touch the original chair upholstery, seen in the photo. It is unconfirmed, but I was told that it is the original fabric from the lodge’s original design conception in the 50s. I tend to believe what I hear — so unless something terrible happens to the chair, I would love it to stay original. It also served as obvious inspiration for one of my favorite fabrics that we chose for the lounge.

And my personal contribution to the lounge, a WPA-Style Naturalist poster.
I designed the poster on Canva using one of my photos of park road, and ordered it framed through Framebridge. It isn’t quite in the 50s genre, but I really love it — and it looks so nice above the fireplace.
